Wii Fit Fun
jewel May 21st, 2008
Well, I hope so, anyway. I got a Wii Fit for my birthday! I’ve been wanting it since I saw it reviewed on G4 and it came out today. So, I plan on giving it a few rounds this evening. Perhaps I will even add to this post after I use it to say how I like it.
Edited: Well, I’ve used it and ………………………………….
……… I love it! It makes exercise so much more fun than just hitting the tread mill. I tried several of the balance games – which the silly little board told me I wasn’t terribly good at. And I tried some of the yoga postures, which I was surprisingly good at. And, man can I feel that I did a little workout! I haven’t tried the aerobics or strength training yet, but I will get to those tomorrow.
It also records your weight and, after entering your height, gives you your BMI and encourages you to set goals. While BMI is not a good judge of ones weight level, it is used by pretty much every diet plan on the planet, so I can see why they went with it.
As you exercise and gather points, you also unlock more things. It’s a very cool way to exercise! I’m actually looking forward to tomorrow!
Update 26 May: I was pretty busy for a few days and skipped 3 days from using the Wii Fit. It actually guilted me a little bit for skipping days! Snarky little board. LOL. I have tried out all of the yoga postures I’ve unlocked so far and some of the balance games and strength training stuff and I must say this is a pretty neat thing. I’ve been using it as a warm up tool before my regular workouts the past couple of days and I’m liking that so far!

I keep trying to buy a Wii Fit, but the store keeps running out before I can make it.
I learned last week, however, that deliveries are on Friday morning, so I guess I’ll be late for work
Ya know, I’ve yet to actually see one in a store. I’ve only seen a Wii for sale in a store once since it came out and that was the day I got mine. My husband actually managed to get the Wii Fit as a preorder on Amazon before they stopped taking preorders.
It’s totally worth being late to work for.
I actually gave up trying to get a Wii from the store and got a new one off eBay, and an inflated price… although not as inflated as some.
I’m not normally one to pay a scalper, but it was actually starting to cost noticeably in time and gas to go to the store, get told they’re out, come back the next day… etc.
We only went looking for one once or twice, then we figured we’d just wait it out. I was doing my normal shopping one day and happen to glance over where the gaming systems were and saw 4 Wii’s that had just been put out. There was one guy on his cell phone calling his friends. Did I make any phone calls? Hell no. I immediately went to find someone with a key to the cabinet.
