A Great Loss

December 16th, 2011

Christopher Hitchens has died. We’ve lost a wonderfully eloquent man who was fearless and bold. He will be missed greatly.

I had the honor of hearing him speak once at a conference in DC a few years back and I’m sad that I won’t have that opportunity again. Suddenly the world seems a little too quiet.

    Hey Jewel!

I was very sad this morning to hear about his passing. I knew it was coming, as we all did, but it was still a surprise to read about it this morning. Even more disturbing were the religious bloggers circling like vultures this past week, prophesying a deathbed repentence and conversion. Of course, he never gave them the satisfaction.

I plan to end my days as such an unapologetic and unrepenting non-believing sonfabitch like Hitch!

    Hey Brett!

Yeah, it’s been a long time coming, for sure. Still, he seemed so indestructible. I think if I manage to face death with half as much courage as he did, I’ll still be proud. Hell, he faced death with more courage than most people face life.

Yeah, the religious bloggers and tweeters were/are sickening. Very classy.
