Only the good die young

It’s been all over the news the past couple of days. There has been no escaping it. Heath Ledger is dead of, thus far, unknown causes. It makes me a bit sad, actually. When I got home on Tuesday and turned on my computer and started reading the news headlines, there it was. I was shocked. 10 Years

It’s all over the news. It’s been 10 years since Princess Diana died in a car crash. It’s hard to believe it’s been that long. I remember waking up to the news that she had died. Hubby and I were sitting at breakfast in Inverness, Scotland getting ready to head up to Rogart where I was going to take a Scottish Gaelic class. I don’t know what the news was like here in the US, but you couldn’t go anywhere in the UK without seeing piles of flowers left in her honor, although it was a bit less in Scotland than in England.

Apparently there are still those that think Di was murdered. A great big conspiracy. But what it was, was a tragic accident. And a lesson as to what can happen when drunk drivers drive at high speeds.

Bush Promises Help Rebuilding MN Bridge

So, Bush toured the disaster site of the Minnesota bridge collapse and promised federal help in rebuilding the bridge. Yeah, pardon me for being just a little skeptical. He promised the same thing to the victims of Katrina and they’re still waiting.

Meanwhile, our countries infrastructure is in great need for repair, but there is no money to do these repairs because much needed tax dollars have been diverted to other projects and politicians don’t want to raise taxes.
